About the project
Route de 6,7 km reliant Uvira au poste frontalier de Kavimvira, à la frontière avec le Burundi, chaussée de 5 m de large. La supervision est assurée par le bureau AIC Progetti pour la Cellule d’appui à l’Ordonnateur national du FED (COFED), de janvier 2024 à février 2027 ; le bailleur exact est présenté différemment selon les sources (FED/Union européenne, Banque mondiale, fonds de la Présidence).
Le chantier, confié à EIS Africa, a été suspendu à cause de la guerre et du pillage de matériaux. Une cérémonie de relance a eu lieu le 17 mars 2026 : l’entreprise a promis la livraison en 8 mois au plus. Les inondations d’avril 2026 ont été signalées comme retardant les travaux.
