No project management committee: problem fixed at École primaire Tujenge thanks to citizen monitoring
At École primaire Tujenge (Mont-Amba, Kinshasa), the Integrity Club reported on EduCheck: no project management committee. Within 91 days and through « Meeting with the school management », the project fixed the problem.
The « Citerne de récupération d’eau de pluie » project is meant to improve École primaire Tujenge (Mont-Amba, Kinshasa). Student monitors of the school’s Integrity Club, trained by the Anti-Corruption Research Centre (CERC), follow the works with the EduCheck questionnaire to check that what was promised is delivered.
The problem
On 29 November 2025, the Integrity Club reported the following problem at École primaire Tujenge: no project management committee.
When information is public, the community can follow what was promised and ask for accountability.
The problem was published on the school’s page and sent to the project management committee and the contractor.
The dialogue
The monitors opened a dialogue with the project management committee and the contractor:
- Meeting with the school management
The result
The fix was recorded on 28 February 2026, 91 days after the report.
The monitors will check the fix during their next visit; the problem will then move to « Verified ».
This success shows what citizen monitoring makes possible: a problem made visible, a dialogue with the right people and a verified solution, for the benefit of pupils.
Your school can change too
Students, parents and teachers trained by CERC monitor their school and talk with those in charge until problems are fixed.
